Six Steps to Stay Healthy During the Holidays
With the holiday season now in full swing, everyone’s schedules are filling up fast, and so are their stomachs. From Thanksgiving dinner to Christmas cookies and everything in between, it is hard to avoid the temptation of the savory snacks or to make time to work them off in the gym. But, at Wildwood Sports and Entertainment Complex, we want to make sure that everyone stays happy and healthy through the holidays, so we put together some tips to help you out during this tempting time of the year.
Eat Slower – when you eat slower, you can have a better sense of when your stomach is actually full. This can prevent overeating and that awful bloating that comes with it.
Plan out your Physical Activity – the holidays can get so hectic, so be sure to plan out your exercise in advance. Set some workout goals throughout November and December and stick to them!
Drink Water – sugary drinks and alcoholic beverages are your worst enemy when it comes to empty calories. They leave you feel very full, so avoid these such drinks like eggnog!
Moderation is key – don’t eat too much at once and be aware of what you are eating!
Mix in some Healthy Options – instead of just eating cookies or leftover stuffing and turkey, as tempting as it may be, try to make it a little healthier, make it a harvest turkey salad and an apple.
Keep the Stress Down – sometimes the holidays can be stressful, and it is important to stop and take a breath. This is where meditation can come in and give you some time away from the madness to restore your sanity!
These are just a few tips to try during the holidays to stay happy and healthy! When the Wildwood Sports Complex opens, our kids and adult leagues are the perfect way to stay healthy all year round!
Have a safe and happy holiday season!!!
